Sun Care

Due to children’s extremely sensitive skin it is critical to protect them from over-exposure to the sun. Some key ideas to consider and relevant safety products are listed below:

Babies need protection from the sun at all times as their skin/eyes are very sensitive and delicate. Exposure to UVR can cause painful sunburn and lead to freckles, wrinkles and increase risk of skin cancer.
Always use sunscreens when outdoors in the sun.
Protect your baby’s eyes with sunglasses.
Always ensure your child is wearing a broad-brimmed hat and protective clothing when outdoors.
Consider using a beach tent when at the beach or park.
Always shade your baby when out and about in the pram with a pram shade cover.
Protect your baby’s skin when in a car by the use of tinted windows, sunscreen film, or a roll up sun shade or a rear sun shade.
