Health and HygieneIn the event of an accident, it is vital to have first aid supplies available. It is also important to maintain a hygienic environment for your child. Some key ideas to consider, and safety products relevant to this area are listed below: - Add an ICE (In Case of Emergency) number to your mobile phone list, by storing the letters ICE in front of the name and number of someone able to make decisions on your behalf. Many emergency professionals now check to see if you have an ICE number in your mobile phone if you are in such a situation.
- Think about doing an approved First Aid Course.
- Ensure your First Aid Kit is adequately stocked.
- Check that the supplies in your First Aid Kit are within their use-by dates.
- Have an easy to follow medical/first aid book. “When Your Child Is Ill” is an ideal book.
- Have a good Clinical Thermometer.
- Have a good Medicine Syringe to administer medication.
- Have a good Medicine Spoon with stopper so that that you can take a measured dosage with you when you are out.
- Have a good quality Silicone Toothbrush for when those first baby teeth arrive. This can be used from birth to 18 months. Note: under twelve months of age, no toothpaste, just water.
- Have a Children’s Cold Pack available for injuries.
- Have a soothing soft water filled Teething Ring.
